Procurement Strategy and Contract Award Report for Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV)

Purchase of cameras with speakers and lights, deployable cameras, additional CCTV storage for footage and additional cameras for King Street and Thames Path

Decision type: Key

Reason Key: Expenditure/ Income above £300K - Revenue up to £500k and Capital up to 1.5m;

Decision status: Recommendations Approved (subject to call-in)

Wards affected: (All Wards);

Notice of proposed decision first published: 14/11/2025

Reason for urgency:
Section S.106 funds have been earmarked for this investment in the 2025-26 financial year and these funds may be lost if we cannot procure rapidly. Due to international war conflicts, global trade disputes and tariffs - which have increased import/export costs for CCTV components and products – alongside shortages of specialist tech i.e. semiconductors, which CCTV equipment relies on, this is a volatile market. We have secured prices with the proposed supplier, but these will increase significantly if we cannot rapidly award the contract by the end of the year.
