Procurement Strategy - Sprinklers Installation at Edward Woods Estate and Drake & Shackleton Courts

This report seeks approval for the Procurement Strategy for appointing a contractor to carry out the Sprinklers Installation at Edward Woods Estate and Drake & Shackleton Courts.

Reasons for Urgency:

Fitting sprinkler systems to existing 10-storey and higher blocks within the Council’s housing stock is a key feature in the Fire Safety Plus strategy. Installing sprinklers to the three (3) Edward Woods blocks (i.e. Poynter, Stebbing and Norland Houses) would add an additional layer of fire safety resilience. Installing Sprinklers into the flats in the two (2) blocks at Drake and Shackleton Courts would provide a much safer environment and is just one of a number of proposed fire safety improvements the Council will be undertaking.
