The Council’s is looking to retrofit
sustainable urban drainage in the White City Estate. This report
seeks approval for the public highway element of the project.
The project is led by Highways and will build on existing
successful Sustainable urban Drainage Systems and urban greening
schemes within the borough, to retrofit green infrastructure into
the highway to create replicable residential streets for the
future.
The scheme has multiple small projects, but with recurring
elements, such as permeable parking bays, allowing water to soak
into the ground rather than to the sewer (reducing the risk of
sewer flooding further down the catchment).
