We are looking to explore the potential benefits of a pre-paid card, with a range of benefits both to residents and to the council. Initially, we wish to undertake a small, self-contained pilot, with evaluation after six months to produce indications of whether and how to undertake a wider roll-out across the council. This pilot would enable payments across housing benefits, adults and children social care, but also to provide a card that all residents of Hammersmith could use for leisure facilities.
