As part of the Health system reform, some
public health functions are transferring to local authorities..
Leaders of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and
Westminster have agreed a single Tri-Borough public health service
to be hosted by Westminster City Council. Transition planning has
been undertaken with INWL for the past six months, and a officer
steering group is overseeing the transition reporting though to the
Adult Social Care Member steering group (with has been extended to
include the WCC Portfolio lead for Public Health). Decisions on
structures and transition are required by October 31st (to fit in
with the Health system reform deadlines)
