Agreement For The Direct Award Of Day Services For People With Dementia

Decision Maker: Cabinet

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The Dementia Day and Community Services contracts are due to expire 30th November 2016.
A Cabinet decision is required to approve a waiver to the Council’s Contract Standing Orders (Under CSO3) of the requirement to seek competitive bids and approve the direct award of three contracts for the provision of Dementia services to the incumbent providers from 1st December 2016 to 31st March 208.
This extension will allow continuity of support to vulnerable people living with dementia and their carers in the borough.
The timeline will also allow for; the three borough dementia strategic review to be concluded and a joint Older People and Dementia Day and Community Services Commissioning and Procurement Strategy to be approved for a tender process during 2017.

Decision:

1.1            That approval be given to waiver the Council’s Contract Standing Orders (CSO) 3.1 to directly award three contracts from 1st December 2016 to 31st March 2018 to the incumbent service providers.

1.2            That approval be granted to the Executive Director of Adult Social Care in consultation with Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health to award the three contracts to the incumbent providers as outlined in Table 1 setting out details of the services and values for the contract period.
