For safety, the pedestrian crossing should be properly signalled
and suitable for disabled people.
To prevent traffic disturbance, maybe traffic lights are not
required.
This will be good to:
1) Reduce use of public transport
2) Make local business more accessible

Dear Ms. Hernandez,
Thank you for your petition regarding pedestrian crossing facilities along the Uxbridge Road. I am responding to you as the lead petitioner.
The part of Uxbridge Road within our Borough runs for just over 2km from the boundary with the London Borough of Ealing in the west to Holland Park roundabout in the east. Along this route there are twelve signalised crossings as well as quite a few “informal” crossing facilities (provided by central islands).
In respect to pedestrian crossings, most of our work involves responding to residents’ site specific concerns. If a resident identifies an area where crossing the road is considered to be difficult or potentially hazardous we carry out detailed investigations applying the national criteria for assessment. This includes detailed analysis of both pedestrian and other traffic movements as well as looking at any traffic casualty data. It would be useful if you could identify specific areas of concern which would allow for a specific site or sites to be examined, or provide more details about the issues raised. The Council supports measures to help promote walking and thereby reduce reliance on less environmentally friendly means of transport.
Regrettably, at the present time, most of our funding is unavailable due to the COVID pandemic. We will however continue to pursue funding and retain any information that you can provide. This will be considered once funding becomes available again.
I would note that we will also be considering requests for more crossing points as part of any long term area plans for Shepherd’s Bush Green.
I hope that this is a useful response to your
petition.
