Purpose:

This report seeks to further extend the Council’s current lift maintenance contract with ELA Group by 2 months to enable completion of the current procurement process to appoint a new long- term maintenance contractor.

Decision:

It is recommended that the existing Lift Maintenance Contract with ELA Group be extended for a further 2 months until 11 November 2019 at a total cost of £90,000.

Reasons for the decision:

Extension of the contract will ensure the delivery of lift maintenance services to residents until the new long-term contract is in place.

 

The tender for the new long- term contract was due to end on Friday 9 August 

2019 but has had to be extended due to tender clarifications from contractors and TUPE issues.

Alternative options considered:

There is no realistic alternative to extending the contract as it would leave the Council without a lift maintenance service until a new contract is procured which is untenable.
